Defoamers are an initial part of paper and pulp production, which ensure the efficiency, safety and process quality. Controlling of foam formation is the key to prevent the negative consequences such as equipment damage, reduced product quality and health and safety risks. Regular updates and improvements to defoamer technology also play an important role in meeting environmental standards and optimizing production processes
Silicone- based defoamers
To solve the foaming problem we offer highly effective silicone defoamers, which are suitable for foam controlling in textile, pulp and paper, water treatment, metalworking and other industries.
Silicone-based defoamers provide high defoaming results, are very efficient and have a long lasting effect. Features of silicone defoamers:
– Economical to use, only 0.00001 to 1% of weight is required to achieve the desired result.
– Low surface tension, which allows to spread quickly over the foaming medium.
– Chemical inertness towards most substances. Their efficiency does not depend on the components which cause foaming.
– Wide temperature range, from -40°C to +250°C
– Low toxicity and others.
Silicone-based defoamers are well soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons and do not cause corrosion of metals. They have no unpleasant odour, do not cause allergic reactions and do not pose a threat to the environment. It is also important to note that silicone defoamers have appropriate sanitary and epidemiological certificates confirming their safety.
Polyester defoamer
Polyester defoamer is a non-silicone defoamer mainly composed of modified polyester. It has good dispersibility in water and strong dynamic anti-foaming ability.
It is mainly used in paper making, oil and gas, alumina, power plant desulphurisation, fermentation, water treatment, industrial cleaning and other industries
Polyhydric alcohol defoamer
Polyhydric alcohol defoamer is a silicone-free defoamer, prepared with high quality polyhydric alcohol as the main active ingredient, is mainly used to eliminate and control foaming in the wet part of paper machine, water treatment, and other industries and processes.
Main characteristics:
Oil-based defoamers
Most mineral oil-based defoamers‘s efficiency is due to high coefficient of mineral oil osmosis and hydrophobic particles as an antifoaming active ingredient, which has additional synergistic defoaming effect.
It provides highly effective antifoaming and defoaming features in the pulp and paper industry, in paints and inks, and in other systems where a silicone-based defoamer cannot be used.
Powdered defoamers
Silicone-free and silicone-containing powdered defoamerare used for air degassing and foam control in aqueous systems such as food processing, dry cement slurry, oil drilling, water treatment and other processes.
